Cold Chemical  Blacking of Iron and Steel

BLACK-IT! was originally developed to provide easy and effective blacking of Iron and Steel components at room temperature.

A Summary of BLACK-IT's  features:

  • A Simple to follow room temperature process.
  • Safe, re-usable, non-hazardous chemicals. Full safety sheets available.
  • The finish is not affected by exposure to heat or light.
  • Average process time less than 15 minutes.
  • The process solutions are supplied ready to use.
  • All solutions are re-usable until exhausted and have a 30 year shelf life.
  • No heat is required by the process.
  • The process produces no gas or heat.
  • Dimensions of chemically blacked components are unchanged.
  • The BLACK-IT! finish is hard-wearing and durable.
  • There is no heat distortion of parts.

 

Please note: This process does not work with any form of stainless steel or aluminium. There are processes for these metals but the chemicals involved cannot be transported by our couriers and are classed as very hazardous.
